Lead generation for your network marketing opportunity is easier than you may think.

Many people ask me, “Matt, how do I generate leads to my network marketing opportunity?”  When people ask me this very common question I respond by telling them that their question is not the right one to be asking.  Let me explain.

Your network marketing opportunity should not be your focus in your marketing efforts.  How many people on the internet are telling you that:

• Their product is number 1
• They are in a company that will be the next Microsoft
• Their compensation plan is revolutionary
• The ORAC value of their product is off the charts
• You only have to sponsor a handful of people and you’ll be rich
• You’re missing out if you don’t join this company
• Just sign up and they will build your downline for you

That’s all just plain bull and finally people are realizing this scam type marketing tactics are simply lies to build a downline.  The people that do join based on these type of claims quickly realize that their millionaire dreams are quickly fading away.  They get frustrated and quit.

So, what are people looking for?  They are not looking for you to tell them how great your company is.  They simply want someone with integrity, compassion, leadership and values.  They want to know that as a leader you will guide them, support them and help them build a downline.

Whatever you do, do not lie to them.  Let’s be honest, you will not build their downline for them.  No high income earner in network marketing does this.  They will not become rich overnight.  This is a business.  It takes work and time.  Anything worth having takes time and effort.

So, by now you should realize that you should not focus on promoting your opportunity, you should focus on promoting YOU.

Yes, YOU are what people are looking for.  You have more to offer prospects than your company does.  If prospects resonate with you, trust you and know they have a leader in you, they will team up with you and follow your teachings.

And if you still think promoting your company is the way to go, think about how many network marketing companies have come and gone.  Promoting yourself is the smartest marketing move you can make.  You will build a downline of loyal followers who will stick with you no matter what company you are with.
